BREMER/MCCOY Kosmos CD

Bremer/McCoy to duński duet - Jonathan Bremer (akustyczny bas) i Morten McCoy (klawisze i efekty). Zaczynali jako grupa dubowa, teraz ich dźwięk płynie pomiędzy jazzem, ambientem i neoklasyką, z kontemplacyjnymi melodiami, które oddają klimat nordyckich lasów, po których muzycy tak często spacerują. Ich "Utopia" z 2019 roku zyskała kultową popularność i grono znamienitych fanów, w tym Nilsa Frahma i Gillesa Petersona.  "Kosmos" to ich trzecia płyta dla szanowanej wytwórni Luaka Bop (załozonej przez Davida Byrne'a z Talking Heads). Oddajmy głos artystóm:

 “We decided to call it Kosmos,” Morten said, “because for us, it's this feeling of being able to transcend time and space and just be, which is a very important thing for humans. Even though it's quiet music, it's music that you're able to just dream: have your own dreams, your own inner images.”

W recenzji z 2023 roku dotyczącej wyprzedanej rezydencji Bremer/McCoy na Copenhagen Jazz Festival, David Dyrholm z Politiken napisał:

“It is one of the most beautiful things you can imagine. The long sinewy fingers slide over the strings of the double bass and send deep tones into the room. The vibrations can be felt throughout the body. The piano chimes in, first with swinging dub, soon laid back, calmly, in broken chords and with a melody seasoned with the blue tones on which both American jazz and Nordic folk songs are based. Overwhelming. Bremer/McCoy are for good reason one of the country's most popular duos.”
