    Po opublikowaniu albumu „Anticult” w 2017 roku, Metal Hammer ogłosił DECAPITATED „następcą Pantery i Lamb Of God”.
    27 maja Decapitated wydają nowy materiał, zatytułowany „Cancer Culture”. Lider zespołu, Wacław „Vogg” Kiełtyka tak mówi o nowej płycie:
    "Nie było tak łatwo wybrać pierwszego singla z "Cancer Culture". Każda kompozycja ma inny klimat, każdą z nich chcielibyśmy Wam zaprezentować jak najszybciej. Ponieważ "Cancer Culture" jest utworem, który otwiera album, uznaliśmy, że będzie to idealny sposób na wprowadzenie Was w naszą nową muzykę. Oczekiwania, jeśli chodzi o nową płytę, były ogromne, nagrywanie jej było więc dla nas olbrzymim wyzwaniem. Ale ciężka praca się opłaca. Mieliśmy okazję zgromadzić niesamowitych ludzi, którzy zajęli się produkcją i pomogli nam osiągnąć jak najlepszy efekt. Jarek Szubrycht ponownie napisał dla nas niesamowite teksty o dysproporcji między marzeniami, ambicjami i aspiracjami ludzkości. Głównym inżynierem dźwięku był Tomasz Zed Zalewski, David Castillo odpowiada za miks, a Ted Jensen nadał całości ostateczny szlif przy masteringu. Okładkę stworzył Fabio Timpanaro, włoski artysta, którego twórczość doskonale oddaje to, co chcieliśmy przekazać. Tytuł albumu ma znacznie szerszy kontekst, niż to może się na pierwszy rzut oka wydawać. Będziecie zaskoczeni”.
