„Are You There” to debiutancki i długo wyczekiwany album Michała Łapaja – muzyka, klawiszowca progrockowego zespołu Riverside. Michał niejednokrotnie pojawiał się również jako gość na płytach takich artystów jak np. Behemoth, Me And That Man, Antigama czy Lunatic Soul.

Album składa się z utworów instrumentalnych oraz słowno-muzycznych. Zawiera dużo przestrzennych klimatów, a zarówno fani post rocka, ambientu jak i elektroniki, będą mogli znaleźć coś dla siebie. Jest różnorodny, a zarazem spójny, przepełniony emocjami melancholią i mrokiem. Próbuje znaleźć odpowiedzi na pytania co się dzieje z nami, gdy nie odnajdujemy się we wzajemnym zrozumieniu, błądzimy pomiędzy tym, co wypowiedziane i niewypowiedziane.

Na krążku gościnnie zaśpiewają Mick Moss - lider, wokalista brytyjskiego zespołu Antimatter oraz Bela Komoszyńska, kobieca siła na czele polskiej formacji Sorry Boys.

Łapaj przywiązuje wielką wagę do brzmienia, dlatego gra głównie na analogowych, tak zwanych „żywych” instrumentach klawiszowych – organach Hammonda, fortepianie, pianie Rhodesa czy starych syntezatorach analogowych. Wszystkie je można usłyszeć na płycie w doskonałej jakości. Praktycznie wszystkie instrumenty zostały nagrane przez Michała. W sekcji rytmicznej gościnnie pojawia się Artur Szolc (Annalist, Inside Again) grający na perkusji.

“Are You There” is the long-awaited debut album by Michał Łapaj – musician, keyboardist of the progrock band Riverside. Michał has also appeared as a guest on the albums of such artists as Behemoth, Me And That Man, Antigama and Lunatic Soul.
The album consists of both instrumental pieces and songs. It contains a lot of spacey atmosphere, and fans of post-rock, ambient and electronic music will surely be able to find something for themselves. It is diverse and at the same time coherent, filled with emotions, melancholy and darkness. It tries to find answers to the question of what happens to us when we do not understand each other and we wander between what was said and what was left unspoken.
The album features vocals by Mick Moss – the leader and singer of the British band Antimatter – and Bela Komoszyńska, the female force who fronts the Polish band Sorry Boys.
Łapaj is dedicated to achieving the best possible sound, which is why he plays mainly analog, so-called “live” keyboards – Hammond organ, piano, Rhodes piano or old analog synthesizers. All of them can be heard on the album in excellent quality. Virtually all instruments were recorded by Michał. The rhythm section features Artur Szolc (Annalist, Inside Again) playing the drums.
