Uznawany za jeden z najwspanialszych concept albumów w historii, wydany w 1979 roku krążek „The Wall” nazywany jest czasem Rock Operą Rogera Watersa, poruszającą kwestie samotności, porzucenia i społecznej izolacji. Album, którego okładkę zdobiła oryginalna grafika autorstwa Geralda Scarfe’a, wypromował jeden z największych przebojów grupy: „Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2”. Na podstawie płyty powstał również film w reżyserii Alana Parkera, w którym główną rolę zagrał Bob Geldof.
