Wpływowy producent Leslie Kong odkrył kiedyś Jimmy'ego Cliffa i nagrał go we własnej wytwórni Beverley's. W 1962 roku nagrał pierwszy singiel Boba Marleya, aw latach 60. stał się znany jako producent wielu dużych artystów, takich jak Desmond Dekker i Joe Higgs. Zmarł na atak serca w wieku 38 lat,
